Worshippers from across Melbourne’s multicultural and interdenominational churches gathered at the Philippine Community Centre in Laverton on 24 May 2025 for Sama Sama! A Day of Praise and Worship in a powerful celebration of faith. “What a beautiful glimpse of heaven on earth!” said Pastor Ignacio Abadilla of Connect City Church. “When hearts are united in glorifying God, the impact is immeasurable,” he added.

The event brought together believers of all ages and backgrounds, singing in English, Tagalog, and Hebrew. From the opening number “Tribe” by Victory Worship to the closing prayer song “Heal Our Land” by Jamie Rivera, the spirit of praise and togetherness resonated throughout the hall. The performance of the Kiko Choir from St. Francis Church, composed of Filipino volunteers and migrants, stirred the crowd with “I Will Sing Forever” and “Tell the World of His Love”. Their harmonies, joy and conviction made a lasting impression.

The Beit HaMashiach community (Jewish believers in Yeshua/Jesus) delivered a heartfelt presentation of “There Is None Like You” and “Zion” by Aaron Shust, described as “a masterpiece of powerful storytelling.” Event organisers, Nhessica Weber, Luz Foxwell, and Pebbles Dela Cruz also shared how the gathering began as “a simple dinner conversation” and blossomed into “a true testament of His faithfulness.”

Jose Puyat, Senior Pastor of Jesus Is Lord Church Australia in Victoria, described Sama Sama as “a powerful and prophetic gathering that echoed the heart of Psalm 133:1 – ‘How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity.’” He added, “This wasn’t just another event—it was a prophetic moment, marking the beginning of something greater.”

Guests travelled from as far as Gippsland. One attendee said, “Worshipping in Tagalog and English—it hits home,” while another said, “I was so blessed and did not expect it to be so encouraging!”
